This is a pendant on a dark oxidized chain, with a little stack of linked rings above the stone. The stone is a faceted kite shape, clear-to-honey quartz with a mess of fine golden-brown needle lines inside. It’s capped with a small gold-toned cone at the top, then hangs from a dark silver bail that looks slightly hammered. The whole thing has that worn-in, mixed-metal look, not shiny-polished.
The needles inside are the whole point, it looks like someone drew hair-thin lines through the quartz and then froze it. Rutilated quartz is usually picked for clarity and focus, like cleaning up mental clutter and getting your thoughts in one direction. People also tie it to confidence and decision-making. The way it hangs straight down kind of fits that, simple and direct.
BORA began with three brothers in Brooklyn, New York, and they keep things hands-on with texture and mixed metals. A lot of their work is oxidized 925 sterling silver with bronze or gold accents, with Mediterranean influence and old-tradition shapes.
